Creator Spotlight Series
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending and photographing an incredible live music event at The Bronx Brewery. The atmosphere was electric, and the performers made the night unforgettable, each bringing their unique style and energy to the stage. As someone who loves music and photography, I couldn't have asked for a better setting to combine two of my passions.
The event was held in the brewery's industrial yet cozy space, which added a distinct charm to the evening. The intimate setting made every performance feel personal, with the audience and performers feeding off each other's energy.
As a photographer, my goal was to capture the essence of the night—the emotions, the energy, and the connection between the artists and the audience. I came prepared with my Canon mirrorless cameras. One camera was equipped with the RF 28-70mm lens, perfect for capturing wide shots and mid-range moments. The other was paired with the EF 70-200mm lens, allowing me to zoom in for those intimate, up-close shots of the performers. Having two cameras ready to go made it easier to adapt to the fast-paced environment and capture a variety of perspectives.
From energetic rap performances to a captivating guitar solo, each act brought something unique that kept the crowd vibing to the music throughout the night. Each performer challenged me to think creatively. One moment, I was crouched low, trying to frame a guitarist in a sea of colorful lights; the next, I was capturing the raw emotion of a vocalist mid-song. The brewery's dynamic lighting added an extra layer of complexity but also opened up opportunities for some truly artistic shots. It was a fun challenge to work with the available light, finding ways to make it enhance the mood of each photo.
Beyond the photography, I genuinely enjoyed the entire experience. The brewery's vibe, the diverse lineup of performers, and the energy of the crowd made the night unforgettable. It reminded me why I love photographing live music—it's not just about the technical aspects or the gear; it's about being in the moment, feeling the music, and sharing that energy through the lens.
